•    Improve KAINet based on lessons learnt and link to open data in agriculture
•    Improve awareness and access to open data
•    Build capacity of decision makers using open data
•    Develop products and tools in order to promote open data
•    Promote research in agriculture using open data
•    Foster partnerships and collaboration in open data for agricultural research
•    Align to existing policies geared towards sustainable development in Africa
