Science Forum South Africa (SFSA): Call for sessions

The Science Forum South Africa (SFSA) and the Innovation Bridge (IB) Technology Matchmaking and Showcasing Event, previously separate events, have joined forces to serve the South African innovation ecosystem. For the first time ever the IB and the SFSA will take place at the same time and at the same venue. The 2019 joint event under the theme: Igniting Conversations About Science For Innovation With Impact, will take place at the CSIR International Convention Centre from the 4th to 6th December 2019. Both events are initiatives of the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI).

We would like to welcome your proposals to participate in Igniting Conversations about Science for Innovation with Impact!

This year’s event will, like previous editions, serve as a large, open public platform for debating the science, policy and society interface.

Focus and Themes:

  1. Scientific advancements with a view to the world we will live in 2030;
  2. Technology and smart infrastructure;
  3. Ethics, innovation for job creation and the conundrum of 4IR;
  4. Responsible technology transfer: The North-South divide; and
  5. From a local innovator to an international player: Case studies.
